*North Fork Foodie Tour
The North Fork of Long Island is famous for its delectable fare. Think Peconic Bay scallops and Long Island duck, strawberries, potatoes and wines. The tradition of farming has continued and expanded. Now it’s taken on yet another life as artisans have begun to produce distinctive foods and explore methods of sustainable agriculture.
In 2006, the North Fork Reform Synagogue created the Foodie Tour to showcase the finest of what the North Fork has to offer, to create an opportunity to learn how the food we eat and drink, which we may take for granted, is cultivated and what makes these products and the people that grow them so special! The Foodie Tour has grown into an annual event held the first Sunday after Labor Day which provides a behind-the-scenes tour of local farms, vineyards or other establishments. Participants chart their own course for tours, special demonstrations, talks, tastings, family fun and so much more!
In 2021, we added a Foodie Tour Online Auction to add to the fun. For more details click on *North Fork Foodie Tour.
