Take a few moments to get to know our North Fork Reform Synagogue Clergy:

Our Rabbi – Sheila Goloboy

Rabbi Sheila Goloboy is excited to be joining the North Fork Reform Synagogue community. She previously served congregations in San Diego, California, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Port Washington, New York. She was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and was recently awarded a Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa, from the seminary. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Psychology from Tufts University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University.

She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and most recently coordinated Support Services for the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack. In this role, she implemented UJA-Federation New York’s Partners in Caring (PIC) grant, providing consultation and programming in fields of mental health, social services, and social justice via Suffolk County synagogues and beyond. She is also affiliated with a private therapy practice in the Huntington area.

Rabbi Goloboy grew up in the suburbs of Boston. Her home congregation was Temple Sinai of Sharon, and her family are still members to this day. Her parents modeled synagogue volunteerism and leadership from the time she was a young child, leading to her own engagement in the Jewish community in high school, college, and beyond.

Rabbi Goloboy lives in Smithtown with her husband, Justin, and their son Cooper, the latter a force of both nature and spirit.
