Bad Shabbos is a 2024 film directed by Daniel Robbins and written by Robbins and Zack Weiner. The film stars Kyra Sedgwick as the matriarch of a Jewish family where tensions come to a head during a Shabbos dinner. It debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival where it won the Audience Award.
It is dark comedy about two couples, one Jewish and one Catholic, who try to maintain a normal facade during a family Shabbat dinner after an accidental death threatens to derail the evening, leading to hilarious mayhem as the family attempts to hide the incident from their Catholic in-laws.
Bad Shabbos is a treat any night of the week.
