Our Rabbi

Our rabbis are students in the Rabbinical Program of the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. Each student is required to fulfill two years of professional experience prior to ordination. We are privileged to participate in this program. Each new student rabbi brings us a fresh point of view that enriches our experience as we pray, celebrate and study together.

Welcome Student Rabbi

Hi, my name is Danielle Weisbrot and I am excited to be joining North Fork Reform Synagogue as your student rabbi this fall! I am a native Long Islander, from New Hyde Park, and am now completing my second year of rabbinical school at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. I also currently teach 5th grade Judaic Studies at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue Religious School. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in Judaic Studies, at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Before enrolling at HUC-JIR, I worked at an education and performing arts non-profit in East Harlem and at a charter school management company. In my spare time, I do volunteer work for Dickinson College’s admissions department, at JBI (formerly the Jewish Braille Institute), and at the HUC-JIR soup kitchen, where I help prepare weekly meals for our guests. I also enjoy reading, baking, and singing with the choir at my home congregation.
