Our special guest, David Fair, a 5th year cantorial student at Hebrew Union College, shares his own story of being a gay son of a Jewish white woman and a black man in Baltimore and how that has shaped his unique perspective as a Jewish leader. As an anti-racism educator his focus is sharing how synagogues can be welcoming to Jews of color. Mr. Fair’s senior thesis is entitled: Tsiporah’s Children: The Music and Lived Experience of Jewish Black Americans.
Havdalah follows the talk and discussion.
